TEN DAY DIRT BIKE TOUR
This is for those who like to get dirty!!! This is our custom tour of the Mae Hong Son Loop in as much dirt as you can possibly imagine. You will go to the highlights that the road riders do while playing in the mud, or sand and seeing some of the most remote villages and farming communities only accessible by dirt bike or 4wd… unless you are a local…. but that’s something you will have to see for yourself.

Day 1 – Chiang Mai to Mae Chaem
Tight twisting wooded trails to deep sandy river beds leading to the view from the highest mountain in all of Thailand. This tour starts off with a bang, there is a huge variety of terrain that is suitable for anyone of Intermediate riding skill and above. Deep sandy river beds where you need to keep pace and trust the flow of the bike as you dance from single track to deep sand. Towards the end of the day you will get to ride up the famous mountain of Doi Inthanon and visit one of the biggest waterfalls in the area. Before descending for the final part to the day you will be taken to see the twin pagodas at the tip of the mountain which make for breathtaking, one of a kind photos.
Day 2 Mae Chaem to Mae Sariang
An Epic day, starting with a twisitng gravel road that will keep you on your toes. The road runs along side a river bed with some nice local style views to enjoy as you get to ride and slide around each corner. The road will come to a local style bridge crossing. A great thing to experience but for those scared of heights. Luckily those that want another option there is now a more sturdy bridge available a little further down the trail. After a shrt break there is a great long and excillerating climb way up into the mountain ranges. An absolute blast to get up and we will be on hand to help if anyone should get themselves stuck. The day finishes riding along another stunning mountain ridge with views spanning either side. A great ending to a great day!
Day 3 – Mae Sariang to Khun Yuam
Not only is the riding to get here amazing, but it is this day that makes it even more worth it. A ride through the depths of the Salaween National Park along and through the Salaween river. The trail has countless river crossings engrossed in the Salaween forest leading all the way to the border with Myanmar. You will get to ride along the border following the Salaween river which divides Thailand and Myanmar to one of the small trading villages for lunch. A village full of both Burmese and Thai nationals that is different from the other towns visited. You will then head north out to get rested at the remote town of Khun Yuam to prepare for the final day.
Day 4 Khun Yuam to Mae La Noi
From the remote town of Khun Yuam you will be guided along the incredible enduro cross trails of Mae La Noi. These are routes we have even riden with local monks going to a Shan village harvest festival. An incredible ride out along technical single track and river sections to some of the most remote areas of the country. A true day of adventure!
Day 5 – Mae La Noi to Mae Hong Son
From the remote town of Mae La Noi you will be guided north to the famous base camp town of Mae Hong Son. A medium length day through the quiet farm lands of the province. Some nice farm style trails leading in and out of the jungle. A chance to take some great pictures and recover some energy from the previous blast.
Day 6 – Mae Hong Son to Pai
From MHS we will head further north to the tranquil hippy town of Pai. Set way up in the mountains, classed as the base of the himilayas, we will blast along some dusty red and gravel trails weaving between the increasing amount of mountains the further north you get. An evening full of drinks, live music, and a huge array of locally farmed food.
Day 7 – Loop to Myanmar
This is one hell of a day! A ride along fast twisting gravel tracks leading to technical ascending and descending single track through the remote jungles up to the burmese border. The ride ascends till you suddenly find yourself emersed in the high altitude pine forests over looking Myanma. Then descend back down one of the most incredible sections of single track into the lush deep jungle seperating these two incredible countries. The guides all agree that this has to be one of the best days of riding!
Day 8 Pai to Wiang Haeng
From Pai you will get to travel North to what is one of our favourite places, and where one of our guides grew up, Wiang Haeng. This trail is very popular with the landscape Turning from jungle, to pine forests as we ascend higher and higher into the mountain ranges. Breathtaking views and flowing trails, this is one of the best days you can have on a dirt bike!
Day 9 – Wiang Haeng to ChiangDao
On your penutimate day, we will guide you back down from the remote town of Wiang Haeng. Riding through farm lands and descend through varying sections of technical single track from an epic river crossing to keep you cool and wanting more.
Day 10 – Chiang Dao to Chiang Mai
Awesome flowing trail along mountain ridges with sensational views either side. Taking breaks at various view points, including a secret spot over the Chiang Dao National Park. This is a fast flowing trail with burms and banks to help your smile grow with each km. A final technical descent down before returning to the city.
We aim to get back to the office for around 4.30pm to get people back to their hotel or to the airport in plenty of time for late evening departures.
Bike options – There are two options of bike available for your trip. There is the heavily and professional upgraded CRF300L. We adapt these to be faster and stronger than originally designed, with plenty more grunt to get your adrenaline pumping on the trails. Alternatively there is the standard KLX250 that is quieter and smoother for those that want a more subtle trip.
Riding Gear – We have full safety gear available in our office. We do recommend bringing your own whenever it is feasible to ensure the best fit. However, for those instances where it is not possible we have a good range of MX boots, jackets, helmets, gloves and pads available. All are included in the price.
Inclusions – Our prices are fully inclusive of bike, fuel, guide, mechanical support, lunch, water and soft drinks, full protective gear (including boots), entrance fees, hotels, and an awesome amount of fun!!
Exclusions – Alcohol, evening meal, personal expenses, travel insurance, flights, visa fees.
