This is a big one! An 8-day dirt bike expedition that takes you across Northern Thailand’s most rugged and diverse landscapes. Expect everything: jungle single track, remote border trails, ridgelines, riverbeds, bamboo bridges, and high-altitude pine forests.
Designed for experienced off-road riders, this journey is one hell of an adventure, while showcasing the raw beauty of Thailand’s mountains, valleys, and hidden villages. Every day brings something new.

Who’s it for: Intermediate – experienced riders ready for eight epic days of challenging terrain, unforgettable landscapes, and a true off-road expedition through Northern Thailand’s wildest borderlands.
Note: This is a group adventure tour. While we enjoy moving at a good pace, riding as a group means mixed skill levels,
shared pacing, the occasional wait, and route choices made with everyone’s safety and enjoyment in mind.

ITINERARY
Day 1 – Chiang Mai to Mae Chaem (via Doi Inthanon)
(Approx. 130 km – 70% off-road)
- Hotel Pick Up (Chiang Mai City or Airport)
- Morning: Arrive at 9:00 am to the Let’s Ride office for briefing and gear fitting. Ride tight forest single track and some epic sandy riverbeds.
- Lunch: Local Thai restaurant.
- Afternoon: Climb Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain, with stops at waterfalls and the twin pagodas with incredible views over Chiang Mai.
- Accommodation: Guesthouse in Mae Chaem or Doi Inthanon.
- Evening: Group dinner and first-night celebrations.
Day 2 – Mae Chaem to Mae Sariang
(Approx. 140 km – 75% off-road)
- Breakfast before departure.
- Ride: Remote jungle trails with an epic climb into the mountains. Followed by farmland tracks through real Karen and Hmong Hill Tribe villages.
- Lunch: Traditional Thai meal en route
- Afternoon: Descend through scenic 4wd trails into the peaceful riverside town of Mae Sariang. Famous for Enduro Riding!
- Accommodation: 3-4 star riverside resort.
- Evening: Relaxed dinner with views over the Yuam River. Wide range of western and local dishes available.
Day 3 – Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son
(Approx. 150 km – 80% off-road)
- Morning: Technical jungle single track and bamboo forest trails.
- Lunch: Jungle stop with fresh local dishes.
- Afternoon: Hill tribe encounters and remote mountain riding into the famous town of Mae Hong Son.
- Accommodation: 3-star hotel surrounded by misty peaks.
- Evening: Explore the night market or lakeside temples.
Day 4 – Mae Hong Son to Pai
(Approx. 120 km – 75% off-road)
- Breakfast in Mae Hong Son.
- Ride: Riverbeds, single track, and stream crossings through lush jungle.
- Lunch: Scenic stop mid-ride.
- Afternoon: Climb and descend mountain ridges into the hippy town of Pai.
- Accommodation: 3–4 star resort in Pai with hot springs nearby.
- Evening: Free time in Pai to enjoy its lively atmosphere.
Day 5 – Pai Border Loop Ride or Rest Day
(Approx. 100 km – 85% off-road)
- Meet for Breakfast at 9am
- Option 1: Rest day to enjoy Pai’s cafés, hot springs, or relaxing massages.
- Option 2: Full-day border loop ride.
- Morning: Fast gravel tracks into deep jungle, leading to technical ascents and descents up to the Myanmar border
- Lunch: Traditional Thai meal en route
- Afternoon: Ride through high-altitude pine forests overlooking Myanmar, then descend via one of the most exhilarating single track routes in Northern Thailand
- Accommodation: Return to your room in Pai to get straight into relaxing after an epic day!
- Evening: Group dinner or free exploration.
Day 6 – Pai to Wiang Haeng
(Approx. 140 km – 75% off-road)
- Breakfast before leaving Pai
- Morning: Choice of an easier cruising route with time to recover some energy or a big technical loop through challenging 4wd and single tracks through military camps and pine forests
- Lunch: Authentic rural Thai meal at a village restaurant.
- Afternoon: Arrive in Wiang Haeng, a farming valley untouched by tourism and one of Northern Thailand’s hidden gems
- Accommodation: Local-style (3+ star quality) resort with rural charm
- Evening: Dinner and group gathering to experience authentic Thai hospitality
Day 7 – Wiang Haeng to Chiang Dao
(Approx. 130 km – 75% off-road)
- Breakfast in Wiang Haeng before departure
- Morning: An incredibly fun and challenging mix of single track and 4WD trails descending down and through the base of the himalayan mountain ranges. Including a major river or suspension bridge crossing depending on the time of year.
- Lunch: Local restaurant in a scenic stop along the way
- Afternoon: Descend into Chiang Dao, surrounded by dramatic karst mountains.
- Accommodation options:
- Thai-style teakwood lodge with on-site restaurant with incredible local cuisine.
- Western-quality hotel with an on-site restaurant and a great choice of western or thai food (+700 THB upgrade)
- Evening: Explore local restaurants and relax after a big day.
Day 8 – Chiang Dao to Chiang Mai
(Approx. 120 km – 70% off-road)
- Breakfast before departure.
- Morning: Flowing 4wd track and rural backroads up into the Chiang Dao National Park Mountains. A technical climbing and descent section or a smoother chilled section depending on rider preference.
- Lunch: Final group meal at a scenic local restaurant.
- Afternoon: Twisting single track carving back into Chiang Mai City
- Return: Finish at the office by 4:30 pm for a celebratory drink and sharing stories from an epic adventure.
- Transfer back to your hotel or Airport.

The gear is regularly used but always kept in good condition, cleaned, and carefully maintained after each ride. We recommend bringing your own gear for the best fit, but if not, we’ll provide the closest fitting quality gear available.

Insurance
BIKE INSURANCE:
Enduro Riding carries an extremely high risk of bike damages. At Let’s Ride we understand that an unexpected bill during a holiday abroad can cause a-lot of inconvenience. In order to ensure the best experience we offer an optional daily insurance package for all our off-road tours to provide full coverage for any damage, with NO EXCESS!
If you choose not to take the additional insurance, we won’t charge for scratched plastics, but charges will apply for other parts. All damages or failures should be reported immediately.
If you opt for the daily insurance, all bike parts will be covered, from radiators to suspension and all engine parts, with no excess. We are dirt bikers, so we know that everyone has a tumble now and then. We provide a full disclosure form upon sign-up for complete transparency.
